Radio and Paging System Vendor Selected
The Department of Emergency Services, upon completion of the Request for Proposal review process, has received authorization to enter into detailed design and contract negotiations with M/A-Com Inc., of Lynchburg, VA, for a 22 site UHF digital trunked public safety radio network, 16 site digital paging network and the necessary user equipment. The components include: a UHF digital trunked radio network, digital paging alerting network, mutual aid base stations, radio dispatch console system, subscriber voice radio equipment, and alarm and control system. The County of York, Pennsylvania and Verizon Enterprise Solutions have signed an agreement for new telephony equipment
The County of York and Verizon Enterprise Solutions entered into an agreement in July 2005 to upgrade telephone equipment and service at the existing 911 Communications Center located at Pleasant Acres, York, PA. This upgrade is an integral part of the Emergency Services Center Project. The equipment will also be used at the County’s new Emergency Services’ Back-Up Facility.
The new telephone equipment, connected to the Center’s 911 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), will allow for faster call processing, recording, and record keeping.
