Mission Statement

York County Hazardous Materials Response Team (YCHMRT) shall facilitate a professional, courteous, safe and efficient response to incidents involving hazardous materials at locations within the borders of York County, to the contiguous surrounding counties, to the South Central Pennsylvania Counter-Terrorism Task Force (SCTF) region and any other location requested by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.

YCHMRT shall work in conjunction with the local emergency response community to protect the life safety of emergency responders and the general public. YCHMRT shall further work to protect the environment and property in York County from any toxic substance released accidentally or purposefully.

The goals of the Hazardous Materials Team are to preserve life, stabilize the scene, and protect public and private properties.
